As a sterilization clinic, adoption was not a part of our original plan. However, we quickly realized it would play a key part in our mission. Dogs and cats were being dumped in rice bags on our doorstep, or thrown over our wall with no information of where they came from or their history. Abandoned sickly puppies were found during feeding runs, and oftentimes we were unable to return them to their packs. Our kennels quickly filled up and we were unable to do pre- and post-sterilization care for our sterilization program. These factors necessitated the creation of a local and international adoption program.
Six years later, with more than 300 adoptions under our collar, our adoption program has become one of the most satisfying and important parts of Rescue P.A.W.S.’ mission.
